HELION came into being in 2001, it was born from the desire of AREVA TA which specialises in naval propulsion, and which wished to develop complementary technology for nuclear propulsion: fuel cells.

Initially the subject of research and development, the fuel cell now finds many varied market applications and HELION is today a major industrial player in high potential markets.

Since its creation, HELION has enjoyed continuous growth in technological development and core competencies, as well as in its market applications.

On the 1^st of January 2007, HELION was attached to the Renewables business unit of the AREVA Group.

Located in the Europôle Méditerranéen de l’Arbois in Aix-en-Provence, France, a business activity zone dedicated entirely to the environment. HELION is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and is a classifed installation for the protection of the environment (ICPE) that cares for and respects all stakeholders.
